However, times have changed, and you can now conveniently buy stamps from grocery stores, pharmacies, superstores, banks, and gas stations.
Publix is a grocery store chain located in seven southeastern states of America. You’ll find 1,326 store locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

What Kind Of Stamps Can I Buy?
Each Publix grocery store has booklets of 20 Forever Stamps available for purchase. You can request these from your store associate as you are checking out, as they are kept within the register. Even though there are many more types of postage stamps available, you are only able to purchase books of First Class Stamps. These are to be used for regular 1-ounce business-sized mail.
What if My Mail Weighs More Than 1 Ounce?
If the mail you need to send off weighs more than 1 ounce, you will need to add additional postage. This will ensure it gets accepted into the system and delivered. Publix only sells books of 20 Forever stamps. So a simple way around this is to stick two of these stamps on to cover up to 2 ounces.
If it weighs more than two ounces but less than three, you can add three forever stamps, etc. Alas, you might end up overpaying by a few cents this way, but at least you are guaranteed your item will have sufficient paid postage and will make it to its destination.
The Cost
Did you know that Publix stores don’t set the price of the stamps they sell? That job falls into the hands of the United States Postal Service. This means that each booklet of 20 First Class Forever Stamps is the same price as they are at the US Post office. The current price of this 20-stamp book is $12.00. That works out to be 60¢ each.
Can I Purchase USPS Stamps from Publix Online?
No. Unfortunately, Publix does not currently offer postage stamps for sale via their online store.
