Starbucks Delivery Methods

Starbucks very much realizes the importance of catering to customers who are unable to visit their physical stores in person. With over 20,000 stores in the United States alone, the company has been able to extend its reach to a sizeable chunk of the U.S. population through their delivery service. 

This has been made possible via a partnership with two of the largest US delivery firms, thus ensuring that orders are delivered to most locations within the United States. Orders can be made via the Uber Eats and DoorDash apps. These are the only food delivery apps you can use for now, so if you’re a GrubHub guy or a Postmates person, you won’t find the Starbucks menu there.

How to Order a Starbucks Delivery?

1 Install the DoorDash or Uber Eats app on your phone.

2 Find Starbucks on the app and check if delivery is an option in your location.

3 Choose the items you want to order from the Starbucks menu.

4 Before finalizing your order, check for any Uber Eats or DoorDash promotional codes that you can apply to get discounts. 

5 During the checkout process, provide your delivery address, along with any additional instructions for the driver.

6 Complete the payment, and your Starbucks delivery should be with you before long.

Regrettably, you cannot use the Starbucks app or website to get delivery service directly. As I mentioned, it’s Uber Eats or DoorDash only. You can, however, make an order ahead of time on the Starbucks app to be picked up in person at one of their stores or drive thru’s.

How Much Does It Cost to Get a Starbucks Delivery?

In addition to the cost of your actual Starbucks order, you will have to pay extra for your delivery and maybe even a tip for the driver. 

When using Uber Eats, expect to pay a minimum of $2.49 delivery fee and a $4.99 delivery fee when using DoorDash. Keep an eye out for promotional codes for free delivery or discounted prices as an effective way to save money. These are not set prices, though. Expect to pay more the further away from a Starbucks store your location is.

Is There a Distance Limit on Starbucks Delivery?

Starbucks does not have any specific geographic limits for their delivery service. However, they do take into consideration the distance between your location and the nearest Starbucks store. Generally, they cap their delivery service to within a 30-minute drive. Any further than that may lead to higher delivery costs and an inevitable decrease in the quality of the products. 

Is the Whole Starbucks Menu Available for Delivery?

You can get the majority of Starbucks menu items delivered, although certain items are unavailable for delivery. They do not specify which particular drinks or food items are not available for delivery, which may cause inconvenience to customers who have specific cravings or preferences.

They say that they do this to maintain consistency in their product range, although they do not elaborate on what that means precisely. I think we can safely assume these will be items that do not travel well.

Can You Pay for Your Delivery Using a Starbucks Stars Card?

You can only pay using a Starbucks Stars reward card if you are buying in person. As the company has outsourced their delivery service to a third party, you can only use the payment methods that they accept. Unfortunately, these do not include Starbucks cards of any type.

This means you can’t collect reward points on your delivered items or use reward points to pay for them.
