Types Of Balloons That Walgreens Sell
Generally speaking, there are two different types of balloons sold in most stores in America. They are Latex balloons and Mylar balloons. And each one has distinct differences.
Latex balloons are what we’d think of as normal or standard balloons. They are more or less spherical when inflated. You can buy them in a wide variety of colors and any size from 12 to 18-inch in diameter.
Mylar balloons are more unusual. They come in a huge range of shapes and sizes, from fruits and vegetables to characters from cartoons. The material is often shiny, though it can be textured too. Stores such as Party City and Party Depot sell both types of balloons. Walgreens, however, sell just the latex type. They’re a standard 12-inch in diameter and are available in every color of the rainbow.
Where can you get balloons blown up?
So, Walgreens doesn’t blow up balloons. But don’t panic! There are plenty of other places that do. I’ve already mentioned Party City and Party Depot. There’s also Publix, Ralphs, and Albertsons. These stores will blow up both balloons bought onsite and those purchased from other places.

Dollar tree has options for those trying to save a few bucks. Most 99-cent stores have a balloon-blowing service, too. Remember, though, these stores will only inflate balloons purchased directly from them.
How much does it cost to blow up balloons?
There’s no standard rate for blowing up balloons. Each store charges a different amount. And those prices depend on the size and type of balloon.
Most stores charge around 75 cents to a dollar for inflating latex balloons, regardless of size. It generally costs a little more to blow up a Mylar balloon. These usually start at one dollar but can go up to as much as eight dollars for larger sizes.
As their names would suggest, Dollar Tree and the 99-cent store charge a dollar and 99 cents, respectively. This rate stays the same regardless of the size or balloon type.
Does Walgreens sell other party supplies?
It sure does! Aside from balloons, they also have decorations, cards, gift bags, and more! Why not check out their Halloween selection for planning your perfect spooky celebration?
