We are living in a digital world, and cash-free payment options have become the norm. However, it is always handy to have some real hard cash in your wallet for those unexpected situations.

That’s why I decided to take a look at the super-popular pharmacy chain Walgreens and find out – Does Walgreens Have ATMs?

Well, Do They?

Well, Do They?Yes! You’ll be very happy to know that Walgreens does have ATM facilities within their stores. Walgreens has approximately 8,915 drugstore locations across all 50 states of America. Plus, you’ll find another 106 locations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

According to the Walgreens press center, frequently asked questions section on their website. If you are based in New York, you’ll have access to 564 Walgreens locations across the state. Whereas California houses 581 locations and Texas 701. However, if you live in Florida, you are super lucky as this state has 820 locations!

It’s been estimated that there are 7,000 Walgreens stores with Automatic Teller Machine facilities. So with a store located within a 5-mile radius for 78% of Americans, chances are high that your local Walgreens is one of these that has an ATM.

What Kind of ATMs Are In Walgreens?

You will find Allpoint ATMs in the majority of Walgreens in the US. These are installed by German American Bank, and there are almost 7000 of them.

However, do you live in or frequent California or Nevada? In that case, you’ll find 333 ATMs available in Walgreens in these states. These are MoneyPass ATMs and have been installed by the U.S Bank.

Will I Be Charged a Fee For Taking Out My Cash?

Will I Be Charged a Fee For Taking Out My Cash?

If you are using the Allpoint ATM and are a German American Account holder, then no. You will not be charged for accessing your own money. On the other hand, if you are a ‘foreign’ card holder (basically any other bank), then you will incur a surcharge fee.

This surcharge is a sum between the amounts of $2.00 and $3.50, and it depends on your bank and the location.

It’s the same deal for U.S Bank account holders at their MoneyPass machines. If this is who you bank with and you are at Walgreens in Nevada or California. Then you’ll be able to make withdrawals without the surcharge fee.

Is There A Limit To The Amount I Can Take Out?

Yes, there is a limit per transaction when using the ATMs at Walgreens. Depending on your location and your banking service provider, the maximum you can request is $200 – $400 for each transaction. That being said, there is no limit to how many transactions you can make in a day (depending on what you have agreed with your bank, of course).

Although how much money you can withdraw from your account each day will strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the state.

Furthermore, the minimum withdrawal you can make is $20.

Where Are The ATMs Located?

Where Are The ATMs Located?

It’s pretty easy to spot the Allpoint and MoneyPass ATMs within Walgreens. They are usually right near the cash register or POS, so head over to that part of the store first, which is also usually right by the entrance/exit of the store, so super handy!

However, if you can’t spot them, you are very close to an employee who will be able to point you in the right direction.
