Flexible Jobs That Let You Set Your Own Hours

Want to feel you are in the driver’s seat at work?

Do you like to work when you want to?

Do you have other priorities in life than to spend your life in the office? Perhaps you’ve got dependents, or maybe you are in school full-time? Maybe you are looking for a career change or a lucrative part-time job? Or maybe you are just tired of the old 9 to 5 grind…

There are many reasons to have a flexible job that lets you set your own hours. And you are not alone!

A 2019 survey of over 7,000 professionals shows that working with a flexible schedule is second only to full-time remote work in the changes people would make with their jobs. Another survey from 2019 shows that the number of people leaving their job because of flexibility issues went from 17% in 2014 to 30% in 2019.

And since the beginning of 2020, an unprecedented amount of jobs have moved online or offered flexible hours. A Mercer HR study done in May 2023 illustrated that 70% of companies were making plans to adopt hybrid remote workplace models, allowing for even more flexibility for employees. Companies find that employee happiness is helping to increase productivity and cost efficiency.

The diversity of jobs where workers can control their own schedule is increasing, so I decided to take an in-depth look at several jobs that allow you to set your own hours and also often allow you to work remotely as well. Let’s take a look!

You’ll need a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
