Shein is a company that has catapulted out of China, which solely operates in the online domain. Currently, Shein delivers packages to over 220 countries and territories worldwide. There are so many factors that come into play when talking about delivery, like flight plans, the weather, and of course, where in the world you are based. These can affect shipping times.

The Origins Of Shein
Shein was founded by Chris Xu, a search engine optimizing marketing specialist and entrepreneur, back in 2008. He began the company under the name ZZKKO, and at first, he operated as a drop shipping outlet.
With a target audience of young brides-to-be, his catchphrase was “a worldwide leading wedding dress company.” Although ZZKKO also dabbled in women’s apparel, back then, it was all about beautiful wedding dresses.
In 2012, Xu was able to buy the domain name sheinside.com. He decided to stop selling wedding dresses and instead began to focus his energy and skills on what he had learned about selling wholesale fashion.
And the name Shein was born…
As he began to explore overseas fashion markets, he simplified the name to Shein in 2015 to make it “more memorable and easier to find online.” With his previous experience as a drop shipper for all these individual sellers, Chris was then able to evolve his company into the fantastic online marketplace we see today.
A lot of items are located in the giant warehouses they operate from; however, as there are thousands of individual sellers and new products added each week, housing every single item in one place is impossible!
Shein has exploded on social media platforms such as TikTok and Insta, where its official page, sheinoffical, has 25.2 million followers and a whole lot of spin-off accounts on top of that. Shein has focused their marketing on reaching the almost two billion Gen Z consumers who live and breathe online autonomy and social media interactions.
What Can I buy At Shein?
Shein has every single type of clothing you can think of available on its site. From T-shirts, dresses, jeans, swimwear, sportswear, coats, jackets, and casual styles, to evening and red carpet looks. You can get womenswear and now men’s, kids and even pet fashion!
Plus, they also sell hair accessories, toiletries, sunnies, and jewelry. Shoes, bags, and household items, including storage ideas, stationery, pet supplies, bedding, towels, and bathroom accessories. Hot water bottles, door knobs, cups, and cutlery. The list is endless…
What Is The Shipping Process Of Shein?
Shein is a marketplace that has tonnes of manufacturers and sellers all over China. So chances are, if you order 12 items, they may be coming from 12 different sellers!
Shein’s policy is that it takes anywhere between one and five days to process your order. This is largely dependent on what you ordered and where you are ordering from. This processing time enables the workers at Shein to consolidate your items.
Individual sellers send items to Shein first!
It also gives the individual sellers time to locally send their items to Shein’s main factory and headquarters in Guangzhou, China. Please note this processing time IS NOT included in the estimated delivery times for your order. Shein now has warehouses located in several different countries, including the US, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
The closer you are to one of the massive hubs, the sooner you will receive your items if they are in stock. Some items may already be located at the warehouse, which makes for faster processing and delivery. However, you may get your order arriving in a few different packages and at different times because of this.
Different courier for every country…
Once your order is complete, it is shipped directly to your doorstep. Usually, these packages begin transportation with China Post (for items out of China) and end with your country’s biggest shippers.
For example, if you are based in the USA, after arriving by air, the delivery is completed by USPS or FEDEX. In the Middle East, it’s Aramex, Fetchr, or Naqel who’ll be delivering to your door. In Brazil, you’ll get your Shein packages via ColisExpat.
How Do I Place An Order With Shien?
It’s a pretty simple process. All you have to do is:
- Go to their website – Shein
- Select from the 600,000 items available at any one time on the site.
- Set up your account with shipping and payment information.
- Complete the checkout process.
- Then simply wait until your order arrives on your doorstep!
How Long Does Shein Take To Ship?
It all depends on your current location. If you are based in China. You can expect to receive your Shein shipment in roughly five days. In Asian countries, it is a bit longer, but as they are closer in proximity, it only makes sense that countries like Thailand, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore receive their orders in 8 – 12 days.
Countries like the USA, Canada, and France are approximately 12 – 15 days, and those in the UK, Australia, and some European Countries are still under 20 days. On the other hand, if you live somewhere like Russia or Brazil, you’ll have to wait quite some time for your Shein order to arrive. Somewhere in the proximity of 20 – 38 days.

If you are after super affordable clothing with the largest variety around, then Shein is a great place to shop. Currently, Shein is only available online. So if you are in the US, you’ll have to wait around two weeks for the order to arrive.
