What Does Dunkin Donuts Serve?
Dunkin’ Donuts makes fantastic donuts and hot and cold drinks and coffees, and fun frappe style coolatta coffees to wash them down with. But did you know that they also offer an extensive range of breakfast and snack items? Tasty things like sweet or savory muffins, wraps, bagels, and, just have to say it again, a serious coffee menu to boot!
Dunkin’ serves some options that include eggs and some with bacon. But they also have some vegetarian options, like their veggie egg white wrap and veggie sausage wake-up wrap. So there’s something for everyone, and these menu items are great if you are following a keto diet or other eating regime.
The Rates Of Pay
The role you decide on at Dunkin’ Donuts will determine the rate of pay you will receive. Please keep in mind that these are averages across all states.
Some states have a higher minimum wage than others which will see these averages increase. For example, according to the NCSL website. In Connecticut, the minimum wage is $14.00; in Massachusetts, it’s $14.25, and California is at the top with $15.00 per hour. These are the states with the highest rates.
Some states have no minimum wage!
Compare this to the 16 states that stick with the minimum wage set by the federal government, which stands at $7.25 per hour. With 26 out of the 50 states currently set above the minimum wage plus revel in the knowledge that a majority of these are increasing their minimum wage rates in increments each year. Interestingly there are five states which currently have no minimum wage set at all.
So if you are seeking to be employed by Dunkin’ Donuts and you live in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, or Tennessee. You will be looking to be paid by the federal minimum wage, which is also $7.25.
You might not want to work there!
The only difference is if you work in an industry where you get tips, these five states only have to pay you your tips + whatever remains to make up $7.25 per hour. So, in fact, your tips make up your wages instead of your tips being extra. After that little lesson on the US minimum wage, let’s take a closer look at Dunkin’ Donuts’ rates of pay.

Part-time VS Full-Time Employment
Part-time employees at Dunkin Donuts usually work between twelve to twenty hours per week. Depending on your availability, reliability, and if you want to work more. If the store needs someone to cover an extra shift, it could well be coming to you if you are a hard worker!
You are considered to be a full-time employee if you work 40 hours. However, it’s been reported that most franchises will only schedule you and let you work 39 hours so as not to pay you overtime. So do keep this in mind when deciding if Dunkin is the place you want to work.
No difference in pay between the two!
Also, there is no difference in pay or perks between part-time or full-time employment with the company. These perks include flexible schedules and free items, and meal discounts. You will generally start as a part-time employee.
Then after an initial 3-month period, if you have proved yourself to be a trustworthy, reliable, and fantastic worker. Then there should be scope to ask your supervisor to be considered for a full-time position. That is if this is what you are looking for. Dunkin Donuts is one of the many companies that see a high turnover rate with staff, so if you can prove yourself and be a great worker, then they won’t want to let you go!

Some stores are open 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, and others are open 24 hours, while the rest fall somewhere in the middle. Therefore shift schedules will most likely differ depending on which type of store you are applying for.

While some basic part-time shifts look like this:
- 5:00 am – 9:00 am = 4 hours
- 6:00 am – 10:00 am = 4 hours
- 7:00 am – 11:00 am = 4 hours
- 11:00 am – 3:00 pm = 4 hours

You can expect to be scheduled for 4-hour shift time slots as a part-timer. During this time, you should be entitled to one 15-minute break.
Does Dunkin Donuts Provide A Uniform?
Yes, Dunkin Donuts provides a uniform in the form of a hat, shirt, apron, and name tag with a headset for the drive-thru crew. Crew members wear white polo shirts, whereas shift leaders are in blue.
For some restaurants, you will be required to purchase your own black, slip-resistant shoes and khaki pants. In others, it’s the same slip-resistant, enclosed shoe, and instead of khaki, it’s blue jeans. So you will need to verify during your interview what the actual uniform is in store.
What about piercings and tattoos?
Another thing to take into consideration is the individual store’s dress code policy for things like piercings, hair color, makeup, etc. Some stores love a bit of brightly colored hair and flash nail design. Others prefer to take a more minimalistic approach to their worker’s looks and insist on natural hair color, minimal makeup, and piercings.
As for tattoos, they are welcome; however, if they depict any sort of violence, racism, nudity, symbolism, or foul language, then they will need to be covered during your shift.
Does Dunkin Donuts Pay Weekly Or Biweekly?
Not surprisingly, the answer to this question is both. Depending on your particular store and how they have their pay role set up. Some franchises prefer to pay their staff weekly and others biweekly.
Another thing to determine is the actual pay period. This can vary quite a bit, however, for biweekly wages, the most common pay period starts on a Saturday and ends on the second Sunday, you then get paid the following Friday. For weekly wages, a pay period often starts on a Tuesday and ends on a Monday, you then can get paid the following Friday.
How Does Dunkin Pay?
You can receive your payment in two ways from Dunkin. The first is direct debit into whichever bank account you have provided payroll with. The second is in the form of a paper check each week or fortnight by your employer.
Are There Any Perks When Working At Dunkin Donuts?
Some of the perks of working at Dunkin is you will get free and/or discounted items off the menu. This is for when you have scheduled a shift and also when you come in for a meal or use the drive-thru.
So during your shift, you can have coffee, juice, soda, water, etc., and donuts plus an actual meal. Again it comes down to the particular store. As each of them is a franchise, and the owners are the ones who determine exactly how the store runs. Some employees have reported free lunch and coffee, and others have reported a 50% discount at their particular store. So it pays to ask at your store during the interview.
Another thing is you will learn about all the secret menu items plus how to make them! We’ve done some research, and they are mainly special drink combos. Especially Dunkin’s signature “Coolatta” frozen drinks! With secret combinations such as Captain Crunch Coolatta – a strawberry-based coolatta with cream, blueberry, and raspberry shots.
Another secret menu item is their Snickers Coolatta, which tastes just like the chocolate bar! It’s a coffee-based coolatta with hazelnut, salted caramel, whipped cream, and a delicious chocolate drizzle. So that is definitely a perk and an exciting one as well!
