Lil Baby Net Worth

lil baby net worth

It used to be a faux pas to ask someone their net worth or how much money they make. But in this day and age, everyone wants to know how much cash you have. It’s always fascinating to learn how much our favorite musicians and actors make and how much it’s estimated that they have in the bank. And the most interesting people to research are new-wave rap artists like Lil Baby.

The Lil Baby net worth figure is quite high, considering the short amount of time he’s been in the game. He might not be in the same league as Kanye West, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Ice Cube, but he’s still making a more-than-decent living.

How much the likes of Lil Baby, Kodak Black Net WorthNBA Youngboy Net Worth, XXXTentacion, Chief Keef, and other rappers of their ilk make gives you a great insight into the mechanics of the modern music industry. So, let’s find out how much Lil Baby is worth and how he made his cash in such a short space of time.

Net Worth and Salary

Lil Baby’s net worth is currently $8 million to $10 million. There are conflicting reports of how much money Lil Baby makes, but most speculate it’s in that range. And considering he’s only been making hits since 2017, he’s smashing it out of the park. Lil Baby’s net worth number was $4 million in 2019 and $5 million in 2022, so he’s been very consistent in his earning abilities over the past few years.

The vast majority of Lil Baby’s wealth comes from his hit singles, albums, and mixtapes. He’s also made a decent wedge from YouTube views, live shows, Spotify streams, endorsements, and via his clothing brand and other companies. Let’s try to figure out how much Lil Baby has made from his music and how much of his net worth comes from other things.

Making dollars from music sales…

It’s been estimated that 80% of Lil Baby’s net worth comes from sales of his albums, singles, and mixtapes. The multiple award-winning Atlanta rapper has sold a large number of albums and singles during his short career. He’s sold over 7.5 million albums, with the vast majority of those sales being in North America. His best-selling album to date is “My Turn” in 2020 which has currently sold nearly four million copies.

Although it’s unclear how much Lil Baby made from these multiple platinum-selling albums, it’s believed to be in the region of $5 million to date. The money he made from album sales is believed to dwarf the number he made from sales of his singles and mixtapes.

At this point, Lil Baby has made three studio albums. He’s had over 130 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts as a solo artist and a collaborator. Thirteen of those hits made the top 10, although he has never made the number one spot. Lil Baby’s biggest hit singles to date are “Yes Indeed” with Drake (6x Platinum) and “Drip Too Hard” with Gunna (9x Platinum).

YouTube and Streaming

YouTube is a cornerstone of success for modern-day rap artists, especially those who started out independent and needed to get exposure. The Lil Baby Official 4PF YouTube channel currently has 8.6 million subscribers, 76 uploaded videos, and a total of 7.9 billion views.

The channel is currently generating, on average, around $143k views per month, that’s around half a million dollars every 90 days. These videos generate approximately $38k every week. Around the back-end of 2021, the channel was generating less than $100k per month, so Lil Baby has seen massive growth in such a short space of time.

How much Lil Baby personally makes from his YouTube channel is unclear. We are not sure if he owns the channel or if it’s owned by his record company. But one thing we do know is that his YouTube channel is probably his third largest cash avenue after music sales and live shows.

Live Show/Concert Fees

Talking of live shows and concerts, Lil Baby is one of the highest-paid rappers in the world regarding gig fees. Back in 2018, he was only making approximately $500 per show, but things have changed for the emcee. By the time 2020 ended, Lil Baby was charging up to $400k per show, depending on the type of event and length of his performance.

This is true because he told it all to radio host Charlemagne Tha God when interviewed on The Breakfast Club radio show in December 2020. In 2023, he currently charges around $300k to $350k for guest appearances, so business is good for Baby.

Investments, Clothing Brands, and Endorsements

Lil Baby seems to be on a mission to build not just a brand, but an empire. As Breaking Bad’s Walter White once said, “I’m in the empire business.” Although his plans seem to be in the fledgling stage, he’s got a lot of vision. It’s been said that he embarked on a $400 million deal to buy a dilapidated Atlanta mall, which he is currently redeveloping. He plans to turn the property into a modern retail park equipped with lavish condos, office space, and retail stores.

In August 2022, Lil Baby announced the launch of his new fashion and clothing brand, “1 Million”. The brand is still in its early stages and is currently designing and selling its own 1 Million t-shirts. However, the company is still in its infancy, and it’s probably costing him more money at the moment than generating profits like any new business concept.

Although Lil Baby has his own clothing line and a record company, 4PF, he only has a couple of endorsement deals, so to speak. Major brands might still be undecided about if Baby can promote their products and image as intended. Currently, Lil Baby has a deal to promote Reebok’s “Sole Fury Shoes” and one to endorse the limited edition “WHAXE Pack” from AXE.

Early Life and Education

Lil Baby’s real name is Dominque Armani Jones. He was born on 3 December 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia, and is currently only 28 years old. He was raised by his mum from the age of two when his father left and never came back. He also has two sisters who are older than him that he grew up together with. He attended Booker T. Washington High School only to drop out in his freshman year to concentrate his efforts on a drug dealing career

His drug dealing business was already out of control when in 2012, he was arrested for possession with intent to sell, and some other related charges. He was given a plea deal that was for two years in prison, but Lil Baby refused to take the deal and hired another lawyer that beat that deal down to just one year in a program instead of full-on prison. However, he got caught fighting on the program and ended up being dealt the original two-year sentence anyway.

He picked up some more charges in 2013 for possession of cannabis with intent to sell and had to do more time in prison. After being released from prison, he began rapping and started up his 4Pf (4 Pockets Full) label with Quality Control Music.

Career

At the beginning of 2015, Lil Baby was just 17 years old and had already been through quite a lot, most of it self-inflicted. However, things were about to change. His time as a drug dealer in the Quality Control recording studio in Atlanta helped Lil Baby to network and meet the right people to kick-start his fledgling rap career.

Career

The label’s founder, Kevin Lee, encouraged Baby to exchange the drugs for a mic and change his life path. Rappers like Gunna and Young Thug became mentors for Baby at this stage of his career.

In April 2017, Lil Baby released his first-ever mixtape, “Perfect Timing.” The mixtape saw guest performances from Lil Yachty and Young Thug, which really helped to give it exposure. In the next few months, he released three more mixtapes. His fourth mixtape, “Too Hard,” included the single “Freestyle,” which was his most successful song at the time and is certified Gold by the RIAA. The official video on YouTube currently has over 500 million views.

Studio Album releases

The days of drug dealing and low-budget mixtapes were fading by the time 2018 reared its head. Lil Baby’s debut studio album, Harder Than Ever, was released in May and immediately made the top 3 of the Billboard 200 album charts. The two main singles from that album are “Southside” and “Yes Indeed,” featuring Drake. The latter charted in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. His debut album ended up selling more than one million copies.

His second studio album, My Turn, in 2020 really helped to establish Lil Baby in the music industry. As mentioned, this album sold nearly four million copies and is Lil Baby’s biggest-selling album to date.

In between his first two albums, he released two uber-successful mixtapes. The “Drip Harder” and “Street Gossip” mixtapes went platinum and gold, respectively, with the former selling over one million copies and the latter selling half a million. His “Close Friends” single from the “Drip Harder” mixtape sold massively and is currently 9x platinum.

His third and final studio album to date, “It’s Only Me,” was released in 2022, which became his third consecutive album to make the number-one spot behind “My Turn,” along with a collaboration album with Lil Durk called “Voices of Heroes” that came out in June 2021.

Personal Life

Regardless of his rapper persona, Lil Baby lives a quiet and mysterious personal life and likes to safeguard his privacy. For sure, his name has always been linked with controversy because of his drug-dealing past. He goes to great lengths to protect his and his family’s privacy and even had to move house because fans found out where he lived and kept pestering him.

He currently has two sons. The first of which is from a former relationship with a woman named Ayesha. He then went on to date an entrepreneur and model named Jayda Cheaves, who gave birth to his second son in 2019.

Personal Life

Real Estate

A percentage of his net worth has been made from real estate purchases. As mentioned, he bought a dilapidated Atlanta mall and is currently converting them into condos and a retail park. We don’t currently have much info on his current home or real estate purchases because of him wanting to keep it a secret from fans. However, he does allegedly live in Florida, but where he lives and how much it cost remains a mystery.

In terms of spending habits, Lil Baby does have a penchant for luxury vehicles. It’s been reported that he owns a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Dodge Challenger SRT, a stylish 2018 Mercedes G550 4X4, a Jeep Cherokee, a 2018 Corvette C7 ZR1, and a Mercedes Benz AMG GT R.

Lil Baby Net Worth and Legacy

Lil Baby is one of the new wave rappers that have used YouTube and streaming services to get their music out to the masses. He’s managed to merge a traditional path in the record industry, going the standard pop music route with social media channels and digital marketing.

His music has done exceptionally well on a commercial level, but it’s the album sales that make up the majority of his net worth. He’s sold almost eight million albums, and he is not done yet.

His legacy is one of turning a tough childhood around to become one of the most viewed rappers on YouTube. He might not have had a number-one track on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts, but he’s had enough top 10s and still has time on his side. Lil Baby is not even 30 years old yet, so we should expect more music coming from him in the near future.

I’m looking forward to it…
