College Park

College Park, Georgia’s most dangerous city, had a violent crime rate of 7,909 per 100,000 residents. As a result, it is 228% riskier than the rest of Georgia. Residents had a 1 in 7 risk of becoming a victim of any crime last year due to the high crime rates.

Most incidents involved property crimes, while only a handful included violent offenses. College Park is undergoing a number of renovation projects that are meant to breathe new life into the city and make it safer. 24.5% of people in College Park live below the poverty line, which in turn creates more crime in the city.

A large portion of crime is caused by little opportunity and poverty. In Jesup, 23% of the population lives below the poverty line. The median age of residents is 36. Therefore it consists of people starting families and families with young children attending school. It does have good schools and a small population, but be careful and stay aware.
